It’s easy to get caught up in all the challenges of creating, running, and growing a successful small business. It’s also easy to feel isolated, like your hiccups or shortcomings are only unique to you. Luckily there are so many resources available to help guide you along the way, and thanks to the boon of podcasting, there are so many subject matter experts talking about just what you need to hear.

We put together a list of five podcasts you can listen to on your morning commute that’ll help get your business off the ground, motivate you to make positive changes, or help solve whatever problems you’re encountering.

Seeking Wisdom with David Cancel & Dave Gerhardt: Touted as being a podcast “for people who want to get better every single day,” David and Dave’s approach is casual and informative. As successful businessmen who run Drift, a company specializing in live chat functions and lead bots for customer engagement, the podcast covers the gamut of all aspects of business but with a definite slant towards “Conversational marketing,” something they published a book about.

Hack the Entrepreneur: Jonny Nastor’s podcast focuses on creating an online business. The inspirational chats typically have a different guest each episode in order to develop the entrepreneurial mindset. With titles like “From Side Hustle to Full Time (In Just Two Years),” “Set Goals That Scare the Hell Out of You,” and “How to Find Your First Clients (Even with No Money),” this call-to-action inspiration will be the perfect start to help you seize the day.

Copyblogger FM: Hosted by Sonia Simone, a writer and marketer, Copyblogger FM focuses on how to effectively use the written word in your marketing. The shows range from 15-20 minutes, so it’s a great snackable bite for your subway commute or drive to work. Sonia takes listeners through how to come up with great content ideas, weathering the storm of a creative slump, creativity boosters, and the (not so) quiet power of conversational copy. Even if you’re not the Hemingway of marketing writers, Simone’s advice will help you make incremental changes to your approach to ultimately get more out of your writing.

Mixergy: Started by internet business entrepreneur Andrew Warner, Mixergy looks to compile interviews of a wide range of industry leaders and offer courses for the ambitious businessperson. His interviews, around 1,500 of them, are with people like VaynerMedia CEO Gary Vaynerchuk, Barbara Corcoran of Corcoran Group, Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia and a whole bunch more and look to analyze founders’ stories of success, failure and everything in between in order to help the newcomer eager for success.

Startups For the Rest of Us: Mike Taber and Rob Walling’s podcast is focused more towards technology, given their programming/web development backgrounds. So if you’re launching a software product, this is the podcast for you. Conversations range from the mental gymnastics involved in running a business, perhaps when you’re on vacation, to SaaS marketing lessons, to how to effectively craft your homepage. They even have a “New Here?” section of episodes to get you started.

So there you are! Now get listening, and be sure to let us know on Facebook or Twitter if we missed any of your favorites.
